Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you use BudgetTools.net.
Last reviewed on April 28, 2026.
Agreement
By accessing or using BudgetTools.net (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last reviewed" date at the top reflects the current revision, and continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance.
What the Site is
The Site publishes free educational content about personal budgeting — calculators that run in your browser, written guides, and editorial reviews of consumer budgeting apps. It is a publisher, not a financial institution, broker, or advisor. We do not hold money, accounts, or financial credentials, and we do not provide personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. See the Disclaimer for the full statement.
Acceptable use
You may use the Site for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the Site or its underlying infrastructure.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site, except as part of a coordinated and pre-arranged disclosure.
- Scrape the Site at a rate or volume that places undue load on it, or attempt to evade rate-limiting.
- Reproduce substantial portions of the Site's content on other sites or in other products without permission. Brief quotation with attribution is fine.
- Use the Site to do anything illegal or to promote illegal activity.
We reserve the right to block IP ranges, user agents, or referrers that violate these rules.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, the text, images, layout, code, and other materials on the Site are owned by BudgetTools.net or used under license. The Site is provided to you for personal, non-commercial reading and use of the calculators. You may link to any page, you may quote brief excerpts with attribution, and you may print or save pages for personal reference.
Trademarks and product names of third parties (for example, the names of budgeting apps reviewed on the Site) belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification and editorial reference only. References to those products do not imply endorsement by, or affiliation with, those companies, except where stated.
Calculator outputs and editorial content
The calculators on the Site are educational tools. They use standard financial formulas (compound interest, amortization, percentage budgeting, and so on) applied to the values you enter. They do not account for every variable that could affect your real-world outcomes — taxes, fees, regulation, market conditions, and your specific situation can all cause real outcomes to differ from any projection.
Editorial content (reviews, guides, comparisons) reflects our independent assessment at the time of writing. Prices, features, and policies of third-party apps and services change frequently. Always verify the current details on the relevant company's own site before making a decision.
Third-party links and advertising
The Site contains links to third-party websites and shows advertising provided by Google AdSense and potentially other advertising networks. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, products, services, or privacy practices. Following an outbound link or interacting with an ad is at your own risk and subject to the third party's own terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the results from using the calculators will be accurate or suitable for your situation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BudgetTools.net and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100) or the equivalent in your local currency.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify BudgetTools.net and its operators against any third-party claims arising from your violation of these Terms of Use or your misuse of the Site, including claims arising from your republication of Site content without permission.
Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the operator's principal place of business, currently [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in the competent courts of [Jurisdiction], except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
Changes to the Site
We may add, modify, or remove parts of the Site at any time, including individual pages, calculators, and reviews. We are not obligated to maintain any particular feature or page indefinitely.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms of Use as the Site evolves. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the current revision. Material changes will take effect when the revised page is posted. If you continue to use the Site after a change, you accept the revised terms.
